In the aftermath of the cancellation of the Connecticut Wiffleball League;s inaugural season in 2019, the league's executive board has moved past the failure of the last season and look to move to the future and 2020. With a new year and the hope of a new season quickly approaching commissioner Benjamin Fiore announced that the Executive Committee would be conducting a survey o help make the schedule for the 2020 season.
"It's a big step forward for us," says the commissioner. "We realized that the format we had last year had brought a lot of confusion. We tried to help everyone by making it as open as possible, but that in turn made it that much harder for teams to schedule games."
The commissioner would go on to state that the survey offers a sample schedule proposed by the Executive Committee, and would like to receive feedback from all walks of life: athletes, working people --those who would have some interest in participating in the league in 2020, even if it is very vague. Commissioner Fiore states that those who participate are not required or obligated in any way to participate in the CTWL should the league resurface in 2020.
"We want to play wiffleball, first and foremost" said Commissioner Fiore, "and we do not want another repeat of a mess of 2019 in 2020."
